Lineman Eligible Definition

The definition of a lineman eligible is any player over the maximum weight limit for their division of play can play the following positions: On Offense, they can play Center, Guard or Tackle. On Defense they can play Nose Tackle or Defensive Tackle. Max of (3) LE's at any one time, On defense LE's cannot lineup outside of the Offensive tackle. On offense, max of (4) at any one time, on offense. LE's cannot be used as pulling guards or tackles. All of our LE's have an orange "X" on the rear of their helmet and must have a jersey number 50-79 or 90-99 or 00. This is so the referees can identify the LE's. LE's can recover a ball, but cannot advance it. LE's cannot participate on the kickoff or receiving/return team. In 2005 and 2006, there were no injuries relating to any LinemenEligible players. Every kid got to play!!!! No one was turned away, and CCAYFL has received national attention for our LE program.
